To tackle the issue of connecting large studios with fresh talent, our concept known as the DragonCog Boostr Initiative proposes the establishment of developmental feeder studios. DragonCog Interactive embodies this concept, envisioning larger studios adopting a similar approach. This framework can be implemented within existing subsidiaries or as part of newly established ones. Through collaboration with organizations focused on graduate employability, we aim to establish a talent pipeline for feeder studios, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.
The DragonCog Boostr Initiative plans to develop six-month projects, each featuring a group of recent graduates. The resulting games will be published on Steam under the DragonCog Interactive label. Additionally, post-project we are committed to assisting graduates in finding industry positions and even supporting them in launching their own studios. Our aspiration is to pioneer this approach globally, establishing feeder studios worldwide. We want DragonCog to be thought of as a pioneering studio dedicated to nurturing emerging talent. Developers can refine their skills here before transitioning to larger studios or pursuing independent ventures. Our approach resembles that of a small football team discovering and nurturing promising players before transferring them to larger clubs—a win-win situation for everyone involved.
The ultimate aim of this initiative is to benefit all parties involved: major studios gain access to emerging talent, graduates secure desirable job opportunities, and DragonCog Interactive establishes itself as a hub for graduates. This idea is in its infancy so we welcome advice, partnerships, and potential funding.
